Biography
Broken Son?
I was one of Bay City’s (Michigan) broken sons. The oldest of six children – parents divorced – I was placed in an orphanage, then a foster home and sent back to a stepfamily where alcohol & physical abuse were commonplace.
I left (no – RAN) from home at the age of 17 when I was a junior in high school. But I went on to graduate from Cadillac Senior High School with honors. I had the leading role in the high school play & wrote a song for music theory class that was performed at an assembly in front of the entire school.
What held me together through it all? God – and the gift of music that He gave to me.
In the orphanage I was an altar boy and literally went to church everyday and twice on Sunday. Prayer and singing were my constant companions. Over the years, I used my singing to make money, entertain others and help them forget their troubles and feel good for a while. Then in 1998 God spoke to me and impressed on me that He wanted me to use this gift of singing for His purpose rather than mine.
I began singing Elvis’ Gospel music and soon realized what an incredible difference it was to realize that I was touching souls and changing lives forever! I always suspected I was born to serve God – I just didn’t know how until I gave my life totally to Him in March 2004 at Bay Valley Christian Church (BVCC) of Bay City.
At my Elvis Gospel concerts you will not only hear the Gospel songs Elvis loved sung with the same heart & soul that Elvis put into it, but you’ll hear them from one who has been there and overcome that!
